I Messed up my tattoo, now what?

Tattoo Gone Wrong? Here are Three Things You Could Do

There is no real way to take away the emotional toll of a relationship gone wrong, nor that of a tattoo gone wrong. But sometimes a tattoo gone wrong isn’t just a bad design, is it?

From getting the portrait of a person who broke your heart, to bearing the signage of an interest that you outgrew, there are a million ways in which tattoos that you loved can eventually become wrong for you. But evidently this is not an isolated experience if we’re talking about it. So if you’ve got one (or more) tattoos that aren’t right for you anymore, here are three options on what you could do about them.

01

Bearing a design you’ve outgrown like a compass or god forbid, ‘live laugh love’?

Coverup tattoos are a great idea for those who love body art but had the unfortunate but understandable notion to get a popular design for their first ink. If you think that the time is right to say adieu to this design you’ve outgrown, you could sit down with cover-up specialist Rolvin Devassy at Inkredible Tattoo Studio or Otzi aka Vishnu, at Pachakuth. Taking the familiar, and making it anew are nothing new to these artists, and after a conversation with them about who you are today, you could come away with a design that could be truly timeless, and worth the permanent place of your body.

02

Relationship gone wrong, and don’t want any traces of the

dedicated tattoo on your body?

Friends break up, friends get married. We fight with partners and we move on from each other’s lives. But if you made the hopeful, but perhaps a little naive decision to get an ex-partner or ex-friend's name, birthday or even portrait tattooed on you and are in a bind, we’ve got the answer.

Covering it up with another tattoo might still be an option for you, but if you are looking for something that removes all traces of even having had the tattoo - expert clinics are your best bet.

Tattoo removal has become more commonplace than we’d all like to admit, but at least you don’t have to go looking far and wide. If you’re in Kochi and looking to get tattoos removed, the following are some expert aesthetic centres that provide the service:

Got an initial tattoo-ed and don’t want to go through the hassle of cover-up or tattoo removal?
Okay, we kid. The above two are the only viable options, but the tattoo of an initial or a first name might just require some creative thinking on your part.

Why not pull a Sofia Vergara and seek out someone who matches the initials/name as your next partner?

Afterall, sustainability is all the rage, and why go under the needle again, if you can find someone new to love, but perhaps with the happy coincidence of having the same initials as your ex?

P.S. If you’ve got a friend who has a tattoo gone wrong and you’ve seen them bearing it silently -  this is your sign to sneakily share this on your story, without being direct.
